Teacher burnout doesn’t come from doing too much work; it comes from spending too much energy context-switching.
If you grade one essay, check two emails, write one lesson plan, and then grade another essay, you are leaking precious cognitive energy every single time you pivot. It’s like stopping and starting your car at every block.

Your brain functions best when it enters a ‘deep work’ state. When you Batch, you dedicate a specific block of time only to one type of activity. You find the rhythm, and you get it done in half the time.

This Week’s Challenge: Batching. Collect all your grading for the week. Schedule one (and only one) 90-minute block for that task. Lock the door. Put the red pen in ‘deep work’ mode. See how fast you find that flow.
